Trauma-Informed Care

Trauma-Informed Care in partnership with the Department on Disabilities of the D.C. Government and the University of Georgetown, Frontline has launched a series of programs aimed at helping persons recovering from trauma at some point in their lives.

Men’s Club

Men’s Club brings residents together to support and encourage each other.

Empowerment Club

Empowerment Club brings the people served together to share experiences and discuss how they could make progress despite the odds.

The Inter-Cultural Exchange Club

The Inter-Cultural Exchange Club brings staff and people served together to highlight different countries, faiths, ethnic practices, and geographic or man-made marvels from around the world. Staff have share their experiences and knowledge of diverse nations such as Cameroon, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Jamaica, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, and religions such as Buddhism, Jainism, Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity. The club members plan to focus on more cultures and nations in the coming weeks.

The Dance Therapy Club

The Dance Therapy Club was started by one of younger staff members, and the number of persons served is fast growing. The dance movements are inertly therapeutic and the outcomes are commendable.

LifeBasics Curriculum

A LifeBasics Curriculum was developed by intern nursing students of Washington Adventist University who came up with creative and novel teaching methods.

Frontline Community Services, recognized in the greater Washington D.C. area for dedicated supports and services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD). The agency has a proven track record of person-centered planning and effective program implementation.

The Frontline team supports persons with disabilities to make strides in life; supporting them from dependence to the highest level of independence; as persons who have a contribution to make to the communities of which they are a part.
